Viana do Castelo and Praia do Cabedelo return to the Iberian Windsurf Cup 2026 as one of the most demanding locations on the tour. The strength of the “Nortada” and the Atlantic conditions make Viana a tough, technical spot with unforgiving wind.
In 2025, it was the most radical stage of the championship, with gusts ranging from 15 to 35 knots and heavy seas with constant changes, where riders had to be extremely sharp in every heat with their gear selection.
For all these reasons, Cabedelo remains one of the most anticipated and challenging stops on the tour.
Viana do Castelo is located 45 minutes from Porto Airport (OPO), with direct highway access (A28). Praia do Cabedelo is just 5 minutes from Viana’s historic center, crossing the Eiffel Bridge.
