Praia do Martinhal reopens for the 2026 season as one of the Algarve’s most reliable spots for windsurfing. Its orientation and the consistency of the “Nortada” wind make this location an ideal setting for Slalom, with stable conditions throughout most of the summer.
The bay offers a vast and relatively sheltered sailing area, allowing for high-speed runs.
In the previous edition, riders competed in winds ranging from 15 to 30 knots, delivering intense and highly technical sessions. Martinhal is once again the perfect starting point for a new competitive year.
Praia do Martinhal is located just a 5-minute drive from the center of Sagres. The nearest airport is Faro (FAO), approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes away by car. We recommend renting a vehicle for greater convenience and to explore the incredible Algarve coastline.
